Welcome to the Longview Public Library Reader Services page.  On this page you will find helpful tools for selecting your next good book.  If you have any questions, require further assistance in the use of these tools, or would like to offer some suggestions, please email Susan Hughes, Reader Services Coordinator, at the following:  shughes@longview.lib.tx.us, or ask for assistance at the Help Desk next time you are in the Library.

Our Book Lists page has links to online book clubs and book discussion sites as well as review sources available on the Internet.

Link to Novelist, a reader advisory serviceNoveList is a reader advisory service providing enhanced subject access to over 74,000 fiction titles.  It allows the user to search for books by a particular author, in a series, or by plot.  Please note that this services helps to identify a particular published work but does not search the Library's database. To determine if the Library has a particular title identified in NoveList, please search the Library's catalog.  NoveList can be searched from the Library and from home.

Online Book Club The OnLine Book Club is a free service.   Each day, Monday through Friday, you'll receive an e-mail with a portion of a chapter from a popular book. The daily e-mail takes about 5 minutes to read.  A new book starts every Monday.    The purpose of the Club is to introduce our patrons to a variety of books and to reach people in the community who think they don't have time to read.  Click the "Online Book Club" link to begin signing up for this exciting, fun new way to find a good book to read.
