Perfect for research at all educational levels, this database offers full-text magazine articles, encyclopedias, primary sources, and tips for doing research.  Requires the TexShare username and password available at the Reference Desk.

Link to Ebsco Host, password requiredEbsco provides access to a wide variety of full-text newspaper and magazine articles suitable for students of all ages.  Includes Spanish language magazines and newspapers.  MasterFile for Children is a specialty database designed for middle and high school students.   Enter your library card number when prompted for a password.  Link from Library (no ID required)

Link to Novelist Reader Advisory Service, password requiredNovelist is a reader advisory service available from Ebsco.  It helps readers find books to read.  It can be searched by author, title, and plot summary.  It provides lists of books by awards and genre.  Book discussion materials, book talk ideas, author interviews, and links to author pages are just a few of the additional services provided.  When asked for a password, use your library card number.  Link from Library (no ID required)


Link to Gale Group Databases, password requiredStudent Resource Center Gold from Gale Group offers information for homework assignments, research papers and essays.  Contains full text magazine and newspaper articles, timelines, biographies, photographs, encyclopedia articles.  When asked for a password, use your library card number. 


Link to ReferenceUSA websiteReferenceUSA is a unique database with information on 14 million U.S. businesses -- great for job seekers, researchers, students and businesses.  Common uses are finding businesses based on employee size, sales volume, type of business and location.  Find executives, corporate families and company descriptions.  It also includes 135 million U.S. households to conduct market research, and locate friends and relatives.  For help using this database, please ask at the Reference Desk.  To use from home, enter your library card number when prompted for a password.  


Link to Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, password requiredOpposing Viewpoint Resource Center is a dynamic online library of current event topics: the facts as well as the arguments of each topic's proponents and detractors.  Unique features include Viewpoint articles and exclusive electronic access to Thomson Gale's Information Plus series featuring statistics and government data placed in context.  To use from home, enter your library card number when prompted for a password.

It has unparalleled coverage of the U.S. and the U.K., including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada and other areas. This collection is an essential genealogy tool and its valuable content is a strong complement to HeritageQuest Online.  Home access is not available for this database.

Link to Biography and Genealogy Master Index, password requiredBiography and Genealogy Master Index database is a first stop index tool for learning where to look for biographical material on people from all time periods, geographical locations and fields of endeavor. Biography and Genealogy Master Index indexes any print product that includes biographical information on multiple persons. Link to Learning Express Online Testing Service, password requiredLearning Express provides access to a number of practice tests.  Study for the TAKS, SAT or ACT, practice LSAT or GRE, or take the ASVAB test.  Real Estate tests as well as Civil Service exams are available through this service.  Take as many tests as you like as often as you like.  Click on this link for direct access to Learning Express eBooks.  When registering from home, use your library card number as your username and enter a password of your choice.
