Childrens Department

The Children’s Department focuses on children from birth through age 12 with a collection that includes: board books, picture books, beginning readers, audio books, magazines, current and classic children’s fiction, and a diverse nonfiction collection. The collection also includes both educational and entertainment DVDs and VHS tapes for children. It also offers both books and audio books in Spanish, as well as titles in Braille.

There are 6 computers with internet access for use by patrons under the age of 18, or adult patrons who are accompanied by children under the age of 10 (see Youth Computer Usage Policy). The Children’s Department Staff is always happy to assist with reader’s advisory, research, and curriculum support.

The department also offers a wide variety of programming throughout the year including weekly storytimes, Super Saturday programs, and our annual Summer Reading Club for school age children.
