February 15th: iMac Lab Ribbon Cutting!

February 2, 2012 | 10:46am

We have some very exciting news! On February 15th we will be unveiling our brand new iMac Learning Lab!

Thanks to a joint collaboration made possible by the Junior League of Longview, the LPL Foundation, and the Friends of the Library, we have purchased 24 state-of-the-art iMac computers and built workstations for these sleek machines.

Complete with Creative Design Suite, these computers are unbeatable when it comes to graphic design and other art programs. They will be available for use by students and other patrons who can demonstrate a need for their specific use. They will not be available for playing games, checking email or for social media purposes- they are specifically for class or work purposes only!

Come help us celebrate this wonderful addition to our Library on February 15th at 11:00am as we cut the ribbon on our latest and greatest endeavor! A BIG thank you goes out to everyone who made this project possible- we love all of our supporters and couldn't function without your generous contributions!

‘Tis the season for gift-giving,
And making resolutions for better living.
Come to the Library, if you’d be so kind,
And a solution to these goals, you will find!

We’ve got the perfect gift to put under your tree,
It can even be wrapped in festive paper for free!

Receiving the bill won’t give you a fright!

It will help make your holiday meal so rich and hearty,
And offer the perfect dish for that potluck or party!
From picky palates to culinary rookies,
There’s something for everyone from cacciatore to cookies.

So do something special and spread some cheer,
On a gift that keeps on giving throughout the year!
This holiday, avoid the mall and let yourself off the hook,
Come on in and buy a Library Cookbook!
